GREETINGS

Welcome to the Wynne Water system.  It is our desire to provide you with safequality drinking water and to maintain QUALITY service everyday of the year.  During the past ten years we have taken tremendous strides to develop a water and sewer system second to none. 

As a new customer there are things you may want to know about our organization and how we conduct our business.


STRUCTURE

WYNNE WATER UTILITIES IS THE CITY OF WYNNE OWNED UTILITY FOR THE WATER AND SEWER DEPARTMENTS WITHIN THE CITY. 

 WYNNE HAS OPERATED THE UTILITY SINCE 1943 VIA A WATER AND SEWER COMMISSION WHICH HAS THE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE OPERATION.  COMMISSIONERS ARE APPOINTED AND THEN CONFIRMED BY THE CITY COUNCIL.  ACCORDING TO STATE STATUES TERM LIMITS ARE SET AT EIGHT YEARS.

THE COMMISSION MEETS THE THIRD TUESDAY OF EACH MONTH AT 5:00 P.M. AT THE WATER TREATMENT PLANT LOCATED AT 706 W. MARTIN DRIVE.  THE MEETINGS ARE OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AND EVERYONE IS WELCOME TO ATTEND.

THE DAILY BUSINESS OF RUNNING THE OPERATION IS ASSIGNED TO THE GENERAL MANAGER OF THE UTILITY.

THESE NUMBERS ARE MANNED 24/7. IF YOU HAVE PROBLEMS, PLEASE CALL US, ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE A SEWER STOPPAGE.  A CALL TO US MAY SAVE YOU A PLUMBING BILL.

 

DEPOSITS AND BILLING

ALL CUSTOMERS ARE REQUIRED TO MAKE A $60 DEPOSIT FOR THEIR SERVICES. ONCE YOU OPEN YOUR WATER AND SEWER ACCOUNT YOU AUTOMATICALLY RECEIVE OTHER CITY SERVICES. THESE SERVICES INCLUDE TRASH PICKUP, ARKANSAS DEPARTMENT LAB TESTING, AND MOSQUITO CONTROL. ALL SERVICES ARE TAXABLE EXCEPT FOR SEWER.

AS YOU OPEN YOUR ACCOUNT YOU WILL ALSO BE GIVEN MORE CUSTOMER INFORMATION TO ASSIST YOU when DEALING WITH THE DIFFERENT AGENCIES REPRESENTED ON THE BILL YOU RECEIVE.

YOUR SEWER PORTION OF THE BILL IS BASED ON YOUR WINTER TIME AVERAGE USAGE AND IS UPDATED EACH JANUARY.  BE SURE AND QUESTION THE WATER CLERKS ABOUT HOW THIS WORKS WHEN YOU HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY.

QUESTIONS CONCERNING THE BILLING FOR SERVICES OTHER THAN WATER OR SEWER CAN BE ADDRESSED BY CALLING 870-238-2395. 

THE BILLING SCHEDULE IS PRINTED ON THE REAR OF THE BILL YOU RECEIVE.  PLEASE READ THIS INFORMATION.

WE ENCOURGE ALL CUSTOMERS TO CONSIDER A BANK DRAFT AND TO BE AWARE OF OUR NIGHT DROP FOR YOUR CONVENIENCE IN CASE YOU ARE UNABLE TO MAKE IT BY DURING NORMAL BUSINESS HOURS.

 

PROJECTS

EACH MONTH WE WILL UPDATE OUR CURRENT MAJOR PROJECT LIST FOR YOUR INFORMATION. THIS MONTHS PROJECTS ARE:

Wynne Water Utilities has for several months been assisting the Chamber of Commerce and the Economic Develop Organizations  in the design and development of a first class industrial park.  This park, when completed, will provide the highest level of infrastructure and  communication technology available anywhere in the country.
 
The Utility is currently developing a Ten-Year plan that will address the short and long range needs along with financing options.   The public is encouraged to offer comments at any time.  This plan when completed will encompass the needs of the existing infrastructure, proposed needs, equipment replacement, and other system upgrades.

 OTHER PROJECTS:

  • MONTHLY GREASE TRAP INSPECTIONS
  • LEAK REPAIRS AND ANSWERING BASIC CONCERNS OF THE PUBLIC

THE SEWER DEPARTMENT HAS BEEN NOTIFYING CUSTOMERS THAT HAVE A FAULTY SEWER SERVICE LINE.  LEAKS IN THESE LINES ARE DETECTED BY USING SMOKE TO LOCATE THE DEFECTS.  THE LEAKS WHEN UNATTENDED ALLOW RAIN WATER TO ENTER THE SEWER SYSTEM WHICH CAN OVERLOAD THE WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT

EACH MONTH WE WILL PROVIDE THE AGENDA FOR THE MONTHLY COMMISSION MEETING IF REQUESTED.  WE WOULD ALSO INVITE YOU TO TOUR THE FACILITY THAT TREATS AND PUMPS YOUR WATER ON A DAILY BASIS.  WE ARE VERY PROUD OF OUR PLANTS AND THOSE WHO OPERATE IT.

THE MINUTES FOR EACH COMMISSION MEETING WILL BE POSTED EACH MONTH AS THEY ARE APPROVED. YOU ARE ENCOURAGED TO CALL THE GENERAL MANAGER IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS.
