Brief Job Description:

The Deputy Treasurer is under general supervision of the City Treasurer with day-to-day activities directly overseen by the Mayor.  This position is primarily responsible for performing accounting duties in accordance with state laws, city ordinances, resolutions, policies, and practices.  Additionally, this position receives a stipend to perform secretarial duties for the Mayor and city hall.

This position requires working knowledge of basic municipal accounting; ensuring the city is following Arkansas Legislative Audit guidance; payroll and payroll tax processing; city benefit processing; bill paying for the city, and reconciling bank accounts in a timely manner.

The ideal candidate will have accounting experience, excellent computer skills, organizational skills, and time management skills; be able to prioritization appropriately, exercise sound judgment, react resourcefully, take initiative under varying conditions, perform routine office tasks with only general supervision, and be a team player.

The minimum age required is 21.  The minimum education requirement is a high school diploma.
